February 10, 2009 – The International Society of Automation, ISA, announced that the 2009 Industrial Automation Safety and Security Symposium, sponsored by the ISA Safety Division, will take place 22-23 April 2009 in Houston, TX, at the Marriott Houston Hobby Airport.
The event was previously known as the ISA Safety Division Symposium, but has been renamed this year to better reflect the technical content of the program.
This year's symposium will address technical and business issues associated with identifying and mitigating safety hazards in industrial environments. Additionally, this year’s symposium will include additional technical focus on cyber security threats to industrial environments and design considerations engineers must consider when designing industrial processes and Safety Instrumented Systems. The symposium will provide an in-depth look at today's safety technologies and procedures. The event is intended to create a forum where paper presentations and panel discussions transfer information from the leaders and experts on safety and control to industry professionals.

Pre-registration is open until 15 April 2009 and registration fees are $395 for ISA Members and $495 for non-members.
